March 5, 2013Here comes the bride all dressed in white, To have and to hold, I do, I now pronounce you man + wife…
There are so many popular wedding quotes, poems, and phrases. How do you incorporate them into your wedding day to make it special and unique? ”Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and a silver sixpence in her shoe” is my favorite wedding poems/sayings because each line is supposed to represent something sentimental things that the bride has carefully chosen.
There are so many ways to incorporate these items on your special day. Check out my suggestions!
Something old: This is my favorite line of the poem because it allows you to incorporate something near and dear to you on your special day. Wrap a piece of your mom’s wedding dress, old handkerchief from your dad, or place an old family photo in a small frame/broach around your bouquet. Use old family photos as table numbers.
Something new: This is the simplest one. Your perfectly fitted wedding dress and sexy lingerie you worked so hard to fit into take care of this line. Top it off with your fabulous heels… you’re done!
Something borrowed: Jewelry or accessories are the typical things brides borrow from a close married friend or family member. Such as a hair pin, broach, locket or pendant. But, let’s get creative here… Borrow your best friend’s or mom’s veil you’ve been eyeing, or a sash you can wrap around your wedding gown to make it look a little different from ceremony to reception.
Something blue: Anything you wear under your wedding dress (garter, lingerie, heels) is an effortless way to include blue. You can also paint your nails with the hottest shade of blue.
A silver sixpence in her shoe: Most people don’t know about this last line and that it’s supposed to represent financial security. The saying might be a bit dated since brides have been bringing home the bacon for decades. But, for the purpose of keeping true to the old wedding poem secure a dime or penny into your fabulous wedding heels.

Wedding: Lusanna + Jon 7.6.12 {part 1}
July 13, 2012About a week has passed since Lusanna + Jon’s wedding in Santa Monica. I had to write a quick post about their go with the flow, easy-breezy, classic wedding which ended up being a big fun dance party! From the very beginning, they just wanted all their guests to have a great time. All the gorgeous floral arrangements + detailed touches were courtesy of The Language of Flowers… Which the groom has been going to ever since he courted the beautiful Lusanna. Awww…
The ceremony took place at the beautiful St. Monica Catholic Church followed by cocktails + reception at the picturesque Marion Davies Guest House in Santa Monica.
Check out the photos I captured using my iPhone. Professional pics to follow. So, stay tuned!
